Dale was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church throughout his life, serving as an elder and on the board of education. He was a member of VFW post 3602 in Stanton. He loved farming and in 1987 he and LaVonne received the Ak-Sar-Ben Pioneer Farm Family Award for 100 years of consecutive family ownership of the farm.
