Obituary for Darlene Aaberg

Darlene Faye Aaberg, age 89 of Stanton, died Wednesday October 31, 2018 at Stanton Health Center in Stanton, NE. She was born October 28, 1929 at Osmond, Nebraska the daughter of William and Emma (Krueger) Lienemann. She was a 1947 graduate of McLean High School at McLean, NE. After graduating Darlene worked as a babysitter for area families near Randolph.

On June 12, 1955 Darlene married Keith Richard Aaberg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Randolph. The couple made their home near Stanton where they farmed and raised a family. Darlene was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stanton and St. John’s Ladies Aid. In June 2005 Darlene and Keith celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary. Her hobbies include cooking, baking and needlepoint.

Survivors include her 3 children Kurt and Nancy Aaberg of Stanton; Alan and Susan Aaberg of Stanton; Tracy Aaberg of Valentine; 4 Grandchildren Kim and Andrew Frey, Appleton, WI; Jennifer Aaberg, Sioux Falls, SD; Michelle and Dexter Kolb, Pierre, SD and Justin Aaberg, Nebraska City , NE; 5 Great Grandchildren Noah Frey, Micah Frey, and Cecelia Frey , Appleton, WI. Cash Kolb and Crew Kolb Pierre, SD; sister-in-law JoAnna Alasky of The Villages, Florida.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith on November 25, 2006; 2 brothers and their wives Marvin and Ann Lienemann and Vernon and Vernelda Lienemann.

Visitation: 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Thursday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Stanton under the direction of Shultz-Vogel-Johnson Mortuary - Stanton
