Obituary for Laverne Eugene May

Laverne Eugene May, age 76 of Randolph, died Tuesday January 16, 2018 at his home in Randolph. He was born November 14, 1941 at Randolph, Nebraska the son of Keith and Margaret (Arduser) May. He graduated from Belden High School in Belden.

On April 30, 1961, Laverne married Marlis Kay Williams at Wayne, Nebraska. To this union were four daughters Connie, Rhonda, Vicki and Michelle. Laverne was employed as a Mailer for Sioux City Journal. For the past 30 years was employed by Minneapolis Star-Tribune in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a Mailer. He married JoAnn Preston at Pine City, Minnesota in 1984 to this union was born a son Doug. Laverne married Lois Mae (Jeukens) Carroll on August 21, 1998 at Anoka, MN.

Laverne loved woodworking and camp hosting during the summers at Branched Oak Lake near Lincoln and at Weigand campgrounds near Yankton.

Surviving Laverne is his wife Lois Carroll of Randolph; 5 children Connie and Dan Van Slyke of Lincoln; Rhonda and Dan Moser of Lincoln; Vicki and Brian Bargstadt of Randolph; Michelle and Brad Gubbels of Highlands Ranch, CO; Doug and Laura May of Baldwin, WI; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great Granddaughter; 1 Brother Darrell and Patty May of Papillion; 7 Step Children; 18 Step Grandchildren; 31 Step Great Grandchildren.

Laverne is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marlis; brother Jim May and his wife Margie; stepdaughter Deborah.

Memorial Visitation: 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Friday at Johnson Funeral Home – Randolph
