Obituary for Harold Hilkemann

Harold Philip Hilkemann, age 97 of Randolph, died Saturday February 10, 2018 at Colonial Manor of Randolph. He was born April 16, 1920 at Randolph, Nebraska the son of Gustav and Louise (Pieper) Hilkemann. He graduated from Randolph High School in 1937, following high school he farmed on the Hilkemann family farm.

On September 8, 1943 at the United Methodist Church at Pierce he married Mildred Manzer. The couple farmed on the Hilkemann family farm in Pierce county for 2 years until moving to their own farm near McLean. They continued farming near McLean until 2000 when the couple moved to Randolph. Harold sold crop/hail insurance for many years for Mid Continent Insurance Company.

He was member of United Methodist Church of Randolph and was recently recognized for 80 years of membership; past president of Pierce County Farm Bureau. Harold enjoyed playing cards; working as a handyman for area people; doing carpentry and painting; traveling and touring; being around family and friends.

Survivors include his 3 children Karen Voorhees of Topeka, KS; Janet Hilkemann of Omaha; Kevin and Margie Hilkemann of Salina, KS; 7 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 1 Step Grandchild; 5 Step Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters-In-Law.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Mildred, who died in March 2011; his infant twins; 3 Brothers and 2 Sisters.

Visitation: 4 - 7 P.M. Tuesday at UNITED METHODIST CHURCH under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home – Randolph
